I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee conditions, with expertise in soft tissue injuries, arthroscopy, arthroplasty, and revision surgeries. I practice at United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust, Fitzwilliam Hospital, and Boston West Hospital, serving patients across Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire. My clinical and research focus is on hip and knee reconstruction, with a strong interest in advancing keyhole procedures for sports injuries, uncemented prosthetic technology, and innovative bearing surfaces.
I completed my surgical training in Yorkshire and earned a PhD from the University of Hull. My academic interests include outcomes assessment in arthroplasty, the use of allografts and stem cell technologies in reconstruction, and enhanced recovery pathways. I am particularly proud of having implemented 24-hour joint replacement programs at one of my hospitals, significantly improving patient outcomes and recovery times.
I have also had the privilege of pursuing advanced training through renowned fellowships, including the Leeds Knee Fellowship, the Avon Arthroplasty Fellowship in Bristol, and the Alan Gross Limb Reconstruction Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. As an Honorary Professor at University of Lincoln and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds, I actively contribute to medical education and research. I have authored over 30 peer-reviewed research articles and seven book chapters, and I recently published a book on the “Boot Camp” approach to surgical training. My goal is to continue advancing orthopedic care and education for the benefit of my patients and the wider medical community.
